Tyler Cassidy - Musical Artist Press Kit

Tyler Cassidy is an American jazz saxophonist specialized in composing songs often compared to Maria Schnieder. His style invokes a sense of exhilaration and wonder, which manifests in a high-spirited adventure for both the performers and audience. He finds inspiration in the aforementioned Maria Schnieder and the Brian Blade Fellowship Band, and also from fictional works such as One Piece and Moby-Dick. These inspirations are focalised in his 2021 original album “In All Meridians.” This album is written about both historical and fictional adventures of the sea and features a 10-piece band, including strings. Tyler has performed at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. with the Bohemian Caverns Jazz Orchestra, headlined numerous original shows at the legendary Twins Jazz Club, and has been featured in the local DC jazz publication CapitalBop for his album “Friendship Adventure.” He received honorable mentions for album of the year for his two albums “Found Audio” and “Domestic Sunsets” from his duo project “Tyson” with guitarist Nelson Dougherty, featuring ambient soundscapes. Tyler released his latest video-recorded album entitled “Green & Gold” in March of 2024, featuring original music invoking images of grassy hills and the feeling of the wind at your back.
